CBRE Cambodia’s “Fearless Forecast 2024” event provided an insightful overview of the country’s real estate market and macroeconomic outlook for the coming year. Here are some key points from their forecast:

Economic Growth: Cambodia is expected to see a GDP growth rate of around 5.6% in 20241. This growth is anticipated despite ongoing global economic challenges.

Real Estate Market: The real estate sector, particularly office, retail, and condominium markets, is expected to face continued challenges. However, there are optimistic prospects in alternative sectors such as industrial, logistics, and agriculture.

Interest Rates and Occupancy: The average lending interest rate on term loans is projected to rise to around 10.6% per annum. Occupancy rates for office and retail spaces are expected to hover around 63.4% and 66.4%, respectively.

Opportunities: Despite the challenges, there are bright spots in the market. The industrial and logistics sectors, in particular, are expected to see growth due to increasing demand
